Custom Domains

Connect your own domain to any instxnt.xyz storefront with a DNS CNAME record. Your store keeps its built-in instxnt.store subdomain too, so you always have a working default address while DNS finishes propagating.

  1. Get Your instxnt.xyz Subdomain — When you create a store, you get a free subdomain like mystore-abc123.instxnt.store (legacy stores may use .instxnt.xyz).
  2. Add Your Domain in Settings — In your store settings, enter your custom domain (e.g., shop.example.com) in the "Your Own Domain" field and save.
  3. Create DNS CNAME Record — You'll receive DNS instructions. Point your domain to your instxnt.xyz subdomain by creating a CNAME record:
    Name: shop
    Type: CNAME
    Value: mystore-abc123.instxnt.store
  4. Verify Ownership — Once your DNS record is set up, click "Check Verification" in your store settings. We validate the CNAME target and may also show an optional TXT record if your DNS provider needs extra proof of ownership.
  5. Start Selling — Your store is now accessible at your custom domain with a secure HTTPS certificate automatically provisioned.

💡 Tip: You can point any subdomain of your domain to instxnt.xyz. For example, you could have shop.example.com, store.example.com, or even example.com (requires different DNS setup) all pointing to different instxnt.xyz storefronts.

Common DNS Providers

Here's how to add a CNAME record on popular platforms:

  • Godaddy — Go to DNS Management, add a CNAME record, enter the name and value
  • Namecheap — Go to Advanced DNS, add a CNAME record
  • Route 53 (AWS) — Create a new record set with type CNAME
  • Cloudflare — Add a CNAME record in your DNS settings
